COLOR: Light Plum
NOSE: 1/2 Hour out of the bottle and it smells highly of alchohol. The alchohol is currently over shadowing any fruit.
1 Hour decanted nose is opening up with molasses and leather.
PALETTE: Highly acidic with actual hints of Melon, Leather, and dark fruit. A tad out of balance as the acidity really takes over towards the finish.
FINISH: Fairly long as the tannic structure seems to keep the mouth watering for a good 15 to 20 seconds.. While this sounds contradicting it's really something to experience.
NOTES: This wine is a good effort, especially coming from the Calaveras area in CA. I think it has a few flaws, but nothing to frown for too long about. This is a good table wine and I would serve at a dinner party with confidence....good effort guys!
