Just a quick note that we have received our direct shipping permit for North Carolina and we can now ship there directly! To you! From us!
I'm thinking many of our reds will go just fine with some of that yummy NC barbecued pork, including our 2005 Grenache - chilled down just a little - and don't forget the creamy cole slaw!
Also, just a note that we've taken West Virginia off of our list of states we ship to. They've changed the law and the cost of a permit has gotten a bit out of hand. I don't recall that we have ever actually shipped any wine there, but I still hate to lose one...

Sorry to hear about WV - these states are not thinking through the income they are losing by putting up irrational and cumbersome regulations on direct shipping. We need a loud voice of many consumers and wineries to change their mind.

West Virginia is one of those problem states, especially for a young winery since we have not developed a customer base there from the reciprocal days. The process seems straightforward but in the change to a permit state they created a pretty expensive fee structure - which we would do if we had the base, but we don't.
North Carolina, on the other hand, is a no-brainer, with a large and sophisticated wine drinking population. And they recently dropped fees from their permit process, so the only cost is me shuffling a bunch of paper. Oh, and they have GREAT barbecue!

Well, at least you're getting closer to SC. Unfortunately, my current home wrote the book on irrational and cumbersome. How goes the NC retail market?
