There will be oodles of shameless self promotion later today or tomorrow, but first I had to share this with you...

Like many bloggers I have searches set up so that when someone writes about me or Twisted Oak, I get a notice of it. These usually work pretty well. My Google blog search for "El Jefe", however, somehow NEVER actually finds any references to me! Instead, it finds things like this:

All I can say is, I am so glad that Photoshop exists so that I can rest comfortably knowing that has to be a doctored photograph!

A Lament

New Twisted Few member Darrel has a lament:

"Arrr!!!

"We joined the Twisted Few on a recent week-long wine tasting trip to Angels Camp and Murphy's.  The Twisted Oak Winery was certainly the highlight of the trip.  The people were great (thanks to Omar and Toni) and the wine was outstanding.

"I lament because we really wanted to attend Cave Loot but were unable to work it in so close to our trip.  However we were there in spirit (see photo).  To help ease the pain of missing the event we opened a bottle of Twisted Oak Tempranillo.  We are looking forward to next year when we will be sure to be in town for some pirate fun.

"Cheers!"

Cave Loot 2007 - Twisted Few!

I've been thru all of the photos of the Twisted Few who attended the Cave Loot Extravaganza last Saturday, and I'm afraid these are the only ones clean enough to publish here... thanks to everyone (Erica, Alex, Mike) who sent in their photos to help fill in the blanks!

You will probably have to wait a couple more days for the definitive Cave Loot Photo Essay (which also means you still have time to send in your good ones!) This whole anal retentive Photoshop thing just takes a while.... In the meantime our friend David from Puerto Rico has finally succeeded in his quest to get Twisted Oak to a US Territory, and shares with us his enjoyment of a nice glass of 2004 Murgatroyd! Crush 2007 Begins at Twisted Oak!

Missed in all of the Piratical Hubbub is the fact that our crush officially began on 8/17 with a few tons of Verdelho from Silvaspoons Vineyard in Alta Mesa. Check out those lovely small berries! Today: Calaveras Viognier from Villa Vallecito Vineyard - stay tuned!
