Had a great wine dinner at Ciudad in downtown L.A. the other night. Jill over at Domaine547 did an excellent job setting up the event with the restaurant - she has posted some pictures and story on her blog. Also attending was Jeni of Oishii Eats - she also posted a writeup of the event with pictures of all of the dishes. Please go check out both posts, they do a much better job of telling the story than I can!
A special surprise (and treat for me) was that restaurant co-owner (and Too Hot Tamale) Susan Feniger came by to cook the Lamb Paella main course. I think I managed to not act like a slobbering fan... anyway, here are a few snapshots I took at the event - enjoy!
Above: Susan cooks! Below: El Jefe, Jill, Pimp Daddy, and restaurant GM Doug.

Ah, the first photographic proof that Jill Bernheimer has a face! She can hide behind her cute little Hello-Kitty-For-Adults Budo Kun no longer!!
Glad to hear that fun was had by all!

Those aren't ozone-depleting, natural resource guzzling and all-round nasty planet killing gas patio heaters everywhere in the last picture, are they?
The UK government has recently come up with a rather big problem in trying to meet its carbon emission targets. Having expelled smokers from the pubs (who then chose to accommodate those smokers in some semblance of comfort with these heaters) it decided to try and increase carbon taxes on them.
Oops! Way to annoy the stressed-out electorate.
